The psychiatric RESILIENCE bed has been created to ensure a better experience for patients as well as better workflows for employees. It has been created through a collaboration between patients and relatives, employees, regions and companies, and the result is a more inviting, functional and homely design as well as an increased experience of safety and security.
The Psychiatric Bed was nominated for the Danish Design Award in two categories: “Better work” – a design award for solutions that have a positive effect on our working lives. And “Feel good” – a design award for solutions that speak to people’s emotions and senses and simply provide a sublime experience!
“The Danish Design Award is a design award that is internationally recognised. It was judged in 11 categories divided into three groups – Business, Individual and Society. Behind the award are Design Denmark and the Danish Design Centre.

Resilience Psychiatric Bed was nominated for an Danish Design Award in 2016.
During the presentation of the bed, the jury had said the following about the bed: RESILIENCE is a significantly different bed than the others on the market. It is an excellent example of how user involvement and design thinking can contribute to meeting essential needs of psychiatric patients in a dignified way. A group that is often without a voice. The product has an elegant yet functional design – it is well thought out, innovative and effective, not only for the patient, but also for the staff. The design is homely, welcoming and functional. RESILIENCE could become the future standard for hospital beds for this user group.
